I'm Baaaaaack!

Yeah, I'm a slacker....I completely forgot that I had a blog until my mom reminded me :D
So, I never finished putting up my favorite pictures from our all-nighter, and therefore that is what this post will be devoted to. Forgive me for not putting a caption after every picture, but I simply do not have the energy. You're on your own when it comes to trying to figure out what happened that night ;)

Tell me what you think!

Freaky Friday.

So, I promised more pictures, and I've made good on that: my sister recently had an all-nighter bash for her 15th birthday, and her, her/my friends and I decided to get dolled up in the brightest, oddest clothes that we owned (not saying much, regrettably) and take creative pictures. I'll put a few of theirs on here, but since this is my blog :D they're mostly of me.

Here's a few of my favorites:

And since I'm really lazy right now, I'll edit this post with some of the pictures of Nicole, Taylor and Coco at a later date. For now, I hope you like my pics. :b

Me, Myself, and My Showerhead.

Second blog....after the first one, I felt like I had said all that I need to say about photography. In reality I could go on and on, it just has to be the right moment. I thought I'd use this one to post some of my more artistic/creative pictures of myself.

This one has always been a favorite of mine, because of the glasses and the way my hair is....I wish I could offer a dissection of why it's good photography, but the truth is I just like it.

This one is great, because of the angle...and the story of how I took it: I put my camera on the shampoo rack in my shower, and used the timer. I felt pretty darn genius. And frankly, I adore black and white.

More black and white on this one. Cosette picked this one for me, said it was amazing. I'll take her word for it. Although I do enjoy the one-eye effect.

Well that's enough for now. I'll find some better ones, hopefully take some newer ones soon. Enjoy!

A Dissection of Photography

Photography is more than a hobby.
It's an art.
It takes serious focus to be able to compose a picture. You want it to hit the eye just right. Some photographers prefer to capture their subject straight on, show it for what it is, no confusion or mystery.
I think I'm more of an alternative photographer. I like to photograph all the different aspects of a single object. I'll take pictures from underneath it, beside it. through it, of just one part of it. I'll take a picture of your eye or your lip instead of your full face.

Because it's only when your focus is forced to that one element that you can truly appreciate it. You can't see how beautiful an eye is when your focus is being pulled to all the other features of the face. And when you take a picture like this

you can really see what you usually wouldn't. Make out details you wouldn't have bothered to notice before.

I also like to take pictures in...unusual..settings. Like, for example, my bathtub.

Not only does it make the picture more interesting (is she really sitting in a bathtub??), the stark white background makes you focus on the person, which is what you want them to focus on. You usually don't take a picture of a person so that you can focus on the background. But you CAN! Which is why I love photography so much! The possibilities are ENDLESS. You can photograph anything if it'll stay still long enough. A lot of the pictures you'll see on here are of me, because I am my most willing subject. I know exactly what I want out of my pictures, and it can be hard to explain that to someone else. Well, I could go on...and on...and on...about this. But I think I'll wrap it up for now. Thanks for reading. Enjoy the pictures, and the perspective.
